The Pear Cut Diamond
Like the radiant cut, the pear cut, or tear drop diamond as it is also known is the perfect compromise between the fire of the round cut and the sheer brilliance of the marquise cut. The lovely shape makes for a beautifully classic ring. The ideal pear cut diamond features beautiful symmetry with the tip of the diamond lining up with the apex of the rounded semi-circle end of the diamond. Look for length to width ratios of 1.40 to 1.70, which is considered the classic pear shape.
